AGENDA BCNPalau de la Música Catalana The ornate Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona was originally built for the Orfeo (Catalan Choir) in 1908, and designed by Catalan modernist architect Domenech i Montaner. There are guided tours around the building, but primarily the Palau is a venue for internationally renowned orchestral concert and recitals. On the outside the building is a mix of red brick, elaborate mosaic columns and figures. Its interior is known for its perfect exemplification of Catalonian modernist style and it was declared a World Heritage Building by UNESCO in 1997. |
